When organizing events, making sure the date is perfect. Brainstorm different potential conflicts and holidays that may clash with your event and plan around them. Have the guests and their travel arrangements in mind so you do not inhibit people from coming by planning it at a time where people would have to battle traffic. Contemporary Acrylic Lectern 3. Purpose of Event? Without having a purpose to the event, you could waste a lot of time and money for something that creates zero value. What are your goals and objectives for this event? Having a defined purpose to the event will help your planning team. Having a purpose for the event is one of the Four Pillars to a great event: Great food Great entertainment Great social time Great value in fulfilling purpose of event. Who cares about that? You care about next year, making your attendees happy, really having technology that is going to change and make your events better. Here are the tools that are going to make an impact. 1. Facial Recognition AI-powered facial recognition will have an impact, especially on large events. If you plan trade shows, concerts, music festivals, sporting events, but also conferences that may have long lines to register. This is where facial recognition comes to play, for two main reasons: the ability to speed up the registration process and security. 2. Influencer Marketing We’re hearing about influencer marketing all over the place, the ability to use influential people to spread the good message about your event. When you think about your speakers and also your attendees, your sponsors, it’s highly likely that they are the influencers of that particular industry. Tools that can help you to find and really analyze the impact of these influencers are really welcome in your marketing mix. Also tools that help us to create a custom landing page and custom messages. 3. Chatbots Chatbots offer the ability to chat with a human-like interface that sounds like a person, it can humanize a lot of communication that we have during an event. A trend for next year is the use of chatbots as feedback mechanism. The way you set up the chatbot is still very important but there are a lot of platforms that simplify the process for you and very great templates that you could use and really increase the conversions dramatically. 4. Personalization Everybody has to be treated as a VIP. Technology tools can allow us to have deep customization and personalization of our communications. There’s no excuse for sending multiple emails to people that have already registered for your event. A lot of technology providers are offering tools that allow us to really segment our audience better. So we’re looking for a technology that streamlines the process better and makes it easier for us to do so because it’s been built for that. Having this layer of extra personal service, we always say that events are about being detailed-oriented, now you have to reflect that attention to details, to your online communication. 5. Voice Voice is permeating our use of technology. If you think about the way we speak to our phone, and ask for things. It has become natural to ask our virtual assistant to do things for us. So how can we harness that power to do easy things during events? Another application of voice could be translation and recording of our voice, so whether it’s live translation or recording of our voice while we speak at events for example, and how we make that become text, that’s really exciting to watch in 2018. The Campus, as they call it, is all walkable so you have two major hotels, a plaza that you can take over, and more hotels close by. Your attendees can feel like they are part of a community while they are here for your event, to network outside of your event, as well. The new expansion of the Convention Center adds 200,000 square feet to the existing structure, bringing it to a million square feet. Unsung Brewery Unsung Brewery is one of the coolest places you want to bring your group to in Anaheim, mixing beer with the concept of comics books. Unsung are very big on education. They’ve done a lot of cheese and beer pairing events, and had people rent up these spaces and give a beer education walking them through the brewing process, and giving a little bit more explanation on what types of flavours and aromas they’re looking for. A really good team building atmosphere. The House of Blues The Foundation Room is the VIP of the House of Blues, one of the most exclusive and really incredible rooms of this venue, built upon the original VIP of the Sunset Boulevard location. The venue is completely soundproof between rooms. The venue is owned by Live Nation: giving full flexibility in terms of AV, and you can get the best bands in the world booked for your event. This place screams for excitement, engagement, playfulness. Anaheim Packing House This is an original Citrus packing plant from 1919. The building is full of history. If you bring your attendees here, they’re going to be wowed just by entering it. It’s a mini-mall, made of different local and sustainable food and drink options. You can try anything here from scavenger hunts to food tastings. If your attendees are really looking for that twist, that unexpected item in their usual boring social program, this is the place to bring them. Blind Rabbit There’s a secret place in the Anaheim Packing House, a speakeasy from back in the days where alcohol was illegal. If you want that type of intimacy, exclusivity, almost scarcity, you want to host your group in here, where the vibe of the 1920s has been recreated. Fantastic cocktails, fantastic drinks and innovative ideas for your guests. Anaheim Marriott Hotel This property is conveniently next to the Convention Center and there’s an attention to the experience of events. It’s the story that we’re telling through the food, and how you make it that has such an integral part of an event. The Escape Bus Escape rooms, escape games are becoming extremely popular with event planners, especially in team building and corporate events. In this case though, we have a bus. This was so fun, a great activity, I got outside of my comfort zone, it’s a great one for your event attendees! Anaheim - fantastic people, great vibes, amazing food, all fantastic experiences you can transfer to your audience. Despite the presence of the amazing Disneyland, you have also a very unique feeling of intimacy and for business. The facilities available to event planners are really state-of-the-art.
